Polycarbonate ($38.00 complete with frame)
Polycarbonate can actually be called a space-age product. Before it was ever used for eyeglass lenses, it played in important role in the exploration of space. Astronaut face shields and windows in the space shuttle are just 2 examples of polycarbonate’s contribution to space travel. These lenses are substantially thinner, lighter and impact resistant than standard plastic lenses. EyeglassDirect.com utilizes polycarbonate lenses that are manufactured with scratch-resistant and ultra-violet coatings at no additional charge to you.
Due to its high protective quality, polycarbonate is of substantial benefit when making children’s and active adult’s eyeglasses. It is also utilized in the eyeglasses of persons with a lazy or blind eye.

Polarized Plastic Sunglass Lenses ($85.00 Complete with frame)
A polarized filter is produced by stretching a thin sheet of polyvinyl alcohol to align the molecular components into parallel rows. The material is then passed through a solution of iodine. The iodine molecules alight themselves along these parallel rows. In a polarized lens, the rows are oriented vertically in order to maximally reduce the horizontally reflected light.
Polarized lenses are high recommended for people who enjoy skiing, boating, fishing, and many other outdoor activities. They also make great driving sunglasses (especially at dusk).
Polarized lenses are manufactured with UV and scratch resistant.
Prescription recommendation: (+3.00 to -6.00).
